Guillotine Safety Guarding Derby

The Guillotine bespoke guarding project was installed to the rear of the Guillotine to replace the customer’s standard light curtains that they had. We have replaced a number of these on-site over the last couple of years. The main issue for this is that on odd occasions, the steel that is trimmed off can sometimes back the light curtain beams, which means that the machine needs to be re-sent. The Low-level bespoke guarding eliminates this from happening and provides a more of a fix safety barrier between workers and the moving parts.

The bespoke guarding was supplied as 2 large telescopic sliding and swinging doors across the full width of the Guillotine, approx. 6.5m wide, this gives unlimited access to the rear of the machine for emptying out waste material. The doors, however, we interlocked together via the Castell Trap key system, which was fixed in the centre to prevent either door from being opened. The bespoke guarding doors were also supported on a large rotating wheel that sat on the first swinging door section of the larger door, approximately. halfway along the full length.

Finished in our standard safety fencing, black and yellow, but other powder coating colours can be supplied upon request.
